The event was held in The Dorchester's Penthouse Pavilion. The Savvy Club is the UK's premier and exclusive club for the busy professional; it aims to be the most creative social events organizer in the world. Club members are individuals who truly appreciate the finer things in life, insist on the highest quality and relish the extraordinary. We were invited to witness The Savvy Club's annual events competition, aimed at providing experienced as well as aspiring event architects with the opportunity of conjuring and staging the ultimate event. The competition is divided into four categories- culture, gourmet, charity and sporting - and the four category winners will be selected by a panel of judges who are either leaders in the events industry, or recognized as experts in one of the competition categories. The panel of Judges were Joy Montmorency, Executive Chairman, ACE Paul Cook, President, MPI (UK) Zanine Adams, Visit London Emma Boardman, winner of RSVP poll "Best Creative Agency 2006" Angela Rippon OBE, renowned British television journalist John Lunn, The SaVVy Club Member Graham Desmond one of Explosion Entertainments volunteer entertainers performed many of his magic tricks to the distinguished guests. Also present was Simon Ellinas from www.caricatures.org.uk who is also a member of Explosion Entertainments. A presentation by John Evans about Mineseeker operations in south Africa was a stark reminder of the dangers of mines planted in south Africa and their efforts in clearing them so the people can be free from the danger and start businesses on safe local lands to help with the local economy. More information can be obtained from www.mineseeker.com Mineseeker's aim is to raise sufficient funds from Governments, commercial concerns and funding agencies to survey and map mine affected areas and through it's initiative "The Sole of Africa", to return liberated land back to food production. |
